We recently had the pleasure of visiting Kanaan d.o.o., a leading potato chip manufacturer, to talk about their long-term experience with Elea PEF (Pulsed Electric Field) Systems.

We are pleased to share an important update within our Engineering organization at Elea Technology. As our company continues to grow, we are further strengthening our focus on customer support and long‑term technical excellence.

Elea is continuously exploring new innovations and supporting customers in making PEF technology work for their products. Recently, we conducted a mushroom trial together with Fungtastic (André Ritscher, Achmed El-Etri, Jan Lukas Eßer), a company interested in evaluating the potential of PEF for their products.

This month, Elea Technology had the pleasure of welcoming 14 students from the Master’s program Food Process and Product Engineering (TiHo & DIL Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik e. V.) for a hands‑on practical course dedicated to exploring PEF applications.

We are pleased to share that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has confirmed the invalidity of the main claims of U.S. Patent No. 6,821,540, which related to electric‑field‑based pre‑processing methods for vegetables.

Yesterday, we welcomed another potential customer, this time from North Africa, together with Sofien Zahra from our business partner, ScanStore A/S. The visit focused on the benefits of PEF technology for potato chips, including cost reduction, increased yield, improved colour control, and enhanced product quality.

This week, we were pleased to welcome an interested customer from China together with Sunny Wang from our valued business partner Lenno. Their visit focused on gaining a deeper understanding of PEF technology and its impact on quality and safety parameters in beverages — including hands‑on trials with their own products.

Last week, we were running another series of tests in our Pilot Hall as we take the next step forward in advancing PiCon. To ensure PiCon performs reliably under real production conditions, it’s essential that its AI is trained with a wide range of product varieties. Each trial brings us closer to a smarter, more robust, and more accurate inline quality control solution.

Today we hosted our first PEF Excitement Day where we invited the team of DIL Engineering GmbH to visit us in our headquarters!
